AROUNDCAMPUS.COM LAUNCHES COLLEGE COUPON APP
AT OVER 180 CAMPUSES NATIONWIDE
Chapel Hill, NC – Looking to save a few bucks this semester? You’re in luck – living on a college budget just
got easier for students across the country. Coupon-based website, AroundCampus.com, has now launched their
Mobile App for iPhone and Android devices at over 180 schools! Just like their website, the AroundCampus Mobile
App provides instant access to local deals and coupons for students to cash in at businesses around their
college campuses.
AroundCampus.com is currently the largest active website offering coupons geared specifically towards college
students. Each year, local businesses in participating college towns place exclusive deals on the site.
Students in each city spent the summer canvassing their campus community working with business owners to
feature their coupons – meaning the deals in Eau Claire were selected by a group of students from
UW-Eau Claire!
This year, the same great deals offered on AroundCampus.com will be accessible through the free AroundCampus
Mobile App, out this fall. Once downloaded, the App will find the school closest to any given location. From
there, users are able to search for businesses by category or by location. To redeem a deal from the App,
users simply show the mobile coupon at the business and click the “Redeem” button below the coupon. When a user
loves a deal that he or she found, the AroundCampus App makes it easy to share the wealth! Any coupon on the
website or App can be emailed or texted to friends and can even be shared via Facebook and Twitter!
“The AroundCampus App is cool because everyone has a smartphone phone now. Being able to have all these deals
and all that information right in your pocket is pretty awesome!” says Frank Moran, a senior at the University
of Michigan.
Participating businesses are given the ability to change the deal on their coupon as often as they’d like,
so the deals on AroundCampus will constantly be changing throughout the year. As users, students can register
with an email address and be notified of any new coupons posted at their preferred university!
Because of their established relationships with colleges and college markets, AroundCampus is able to promote
deals that often can’t be found on generic coupon sites, and they are able to keep them active for an entire
school year. Another component of AroundCampus that distinguishes it from other generic coupon sites and Apps
is that there’s no catch associated with the coupons. “Membership” is not required for use of the site, a
student doesn’t have to make an initial purchase to redeem coupons and there is no minimum number of coupons
necessary to “validate” a deal. Users may visit the App or the website as often as they like to redeem or print
a featured coupon.
